The Chess Jawa will return to Atlanta for Dragon Con 2026, his 14th year playing chess to raise money for the Dragon Con charity. As always, the Jawa will be playing in the Marriott Lobby, near the Starbucks. All challengers are welcome, and everyone who plays gets a sticker!

This year’s charity is Hope Atlanta. “This amazing organization works with people who are at risk of homelessness,” said the Jawa, “providing bridges to help them remain housed and independent.” “Everyone deserves the security of a home,” added the Jawa, “like our Sandcrawler.”

Last year the Jawa raised over $3,700 for NAMI, the 2025 charity. “Dragon Con goers are the most generous people in the Galaxy,” said the Jawa, “and it’s great that Dragon Con will now match up to $150,000 in donations.” “We really can make a huge difference!”

“I also get so many great chess games,” the Jawa added. Last year the Chess Jawa played 194 games, with 4 draws and no losses.
