The Chess Jawa will return to Atlanta for Dragon Con 2024, his 12th year playing chess to raise money for the Dragon Con charity. As always, the Jawa will be playing in the Marriott Lobby, near the Starbucks. All challengers are welcome and everyone who plays gets a sticker.
This year's charity is the Arthritis Foundation. "I learned that nearly 60 million adults and hundreds of thousands of kids are living with arthritis," said the Jawa, "and the Arthritis Foundation makes effective treatment available to everyone."
Last year the Jawa raised over $3,200 for the 2023 charity, "My goal is to raise over $3,000 for the Arthritis Foundation too," said the Jawa, "with Dragon Con's generous match, we can really make a difference!"
"Of course, I'm also excited to get some great chess games," added the Jawa, "I played almost 150 games last year. I lost to 2 amazing Terrans, but I did beat Barbie and Jesus." He exclaimed, "Chess at Dragon Con is the best chess in the galaxy!"

This year's charity is CURE Childhood Cancer. "CURE Childhood Cancer is a wonderful organization," said the Jawa, "they fund research on childhood cancers and also support kids with cancer and their families." He added, "I hope to raise over $3,000 for them!"
I"I'm really looking forward to the chess games too this year," said the Jawa. "Last year, I played over 215 games. I even lost 2 of them! Dragon Con provides the best competition in the galaxy."
